King Herod Antipas had had John the Baptist arrested and imprisoned, as he'd made a point of shouting the truth of the matter from the wilderness, and possibly, some mountaintops. Facts were that it was against the local laws for even the King to have divorced his wife, and married his brother's wife instead. But being twelve times over a fool, King Herod Antipas made a bad situation worse for himself, got drunk, and like any red blooded lascivious male in a position to do what he wants, he then enjoyed one of history's finest lap dances, given by his second, illicit wife's daughter.
Now, Salome, must have been quite a lovely little tramp, and believe me; I'd probably have been no less pleased than the idiot king; but spouting off oaths in front of all of your drunken friends is never a good idea. Promising young women anything that they desire for sex isn't a good idea either, especially if the young woman is very much under the influence of her mother; who is actually your wife. It's pretty obvious that this royal family was rather twisted in a number of ways; and though there is no record of it, I'd imagine that the one who fulfilled the prophecy concerning the one who would come before Jesus Of Nazareth, had probably said a whole lot more.
In the Book of Malachi 3:1 that refers to a prophet who would prepare the way of the Lord :
Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts . —
"And he shall go before him [Christ] in the spirit and power of Elias" (Luke 1:17).
It is clear that John the Baptist, the man who Baptized Jesus of Nazareth, was executed by the powers that be for merely speaking the truth about matters that were probably very bothersome to him.

Jesus of Nazareth was crucified for his truth attacks against a corrupt government, and more specifically, the religious leaders of the land that he lived in, and loved. Roman crucifixion was a horrific manner of execution, and it was meant to be the most painful of deaths.

Now, it is not my intention here to draw too much of a comparison between Mr.Julian Assange, and John the Baptist, and/or Jesus of Nazareth. Personally, I idolize all three of them to different degrees; but heroes of mine they are. Why? Those guys didn't give a flying giraffe about the consequences of their actions when their actions were speaking the truth.
I'm not aware of any scripture in which John the Baptist was portrayed as violent or angry. Jesus, in righteous indignation at the money changers in the temple, chased them all away. Can you imagine that? One man, righteously angry, chased away how many? I know that it happened, and I've seen similar things with my own eyes, as one very angry man can, and will at times overcome much greater odds, and numbers when certain factors are in place for him.
In Tolkien's greatest work, The Silmarillion , The Elf king, Fingolfin, became so angry that he attacked the devil himself; and permanently injured him.

There is absolutely no reason to ever be afraid of the truth, and only cowardice, conspiracy, and shame keep people from admitting the truth of any matter. I suppose there could be other reasons, but none of them have any merit to speak of. Corporate fascism is the current reality here, in the land where our jobs have been shipped overseas, our borders left unguarded, and every last politician that I know of, save Ron Paul has been bought and sold like a stock certificate by internationalists, and bankers. or lobbyists. We've mass media moguls here in the United States of Confusion who know absolutely no shame, or moral to speak of save one, and that is that we, the people, should be utterly destroyed by them as they profit. Sure, it's absolute stupidity to believe anything coming from a corporate newspaper, any television set, or Murdoch owned radio station. Problem is that most people DO consume that garbage, and seem to believe at least half of it. Nevermind the fact that suggestions concerning how and what our lifestyles should be and consist of are always completely dominated by lasciviousness and materialism. The same people who own and control our corrupt mass media also fund the neocon pseudo Christian right wing; and they reap profits from both sides of every conflict that they create, or feed. Do you doubt this? Research who owns the clown show called Trinity Broadcasting Network for me. Yeah, you've started, so go ahead; and figure the rest of it out, or just pull your hoodie down over your eyes and keep on living zombie style.

I have absolutely no idea about the truth of the matter concerning the arrest warrant and sexual assault charges against one of my few living heroes, Mr. Julian Assange. Thing is, I SERIOUSLY doubt that any of it is true at all. Sending a whore to a man to try to destroy his reputation, or have him put in jail is one of the oldest tricks in the book. If you are a woman, and you read this; and suddenly feel angry - put yourself in my shoes for a minute. There is nothing more in this world that I want right here, right now, than to really spend some quality one on one time with a lovely woman. I'm not the least bit unique for that. I'm only a healthy male of young enough age to still be stupid, and I've an addictive personality to top it off. Mr. Julian Assange is not much older than I am, and he looks pretty healthy, and like any healthy hetro man, he's going to be susceptible to the lures of a lovely woman's loins. Think of the money that seeks to shut up the one man who has provided more proof of corporate mischief, and treachery than anyone else. They'd prefer him dead, of course, but that simply wouldn't do. In America, slander is the way. Idiotic Murdoch news people like glen beck will be all over this. Sure, it's a possibility that the man sexually assaulted some woman but I SERIOUSLY DOUBT IT.

Are we rolling down hill like a snowball headed for hell? Why yes, we certainly are; but with men like Julian Assange, who are willing to shout the truth from the mountaintops despite the enormous powers of the "elite" who stand against him, still alive and shouting; there is hope.
